More nervous!

It's getting closer and this storm track prediction is very scary
We finalized our evacuation plan today. We are leaving town on Saturday morning. Hopefully it'll just be a fun visit with Aunt Cathy in Memphis and we'll come home on Monday to the same home we left on Saturday.
Thank you for your prayers
God Bless

A little nervous....

I love the summer, but this time of year brings hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico. I have a great fear of these powerful storms. The current prediction for Gustav includes our area.

Please join me in prayer.
Prayer for Hurricane Season
O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children.
The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to its former quietude; you are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of danger over which we have no control; the Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season, we turn to you, O loving Father.
Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the passing of time.
O Virgin, Star of the Sea, our beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your son on our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of Your Divine Son to reach the Heavenly Jerusalem where a storm-less eternity awaits us.

Fun Weekend

Saturday we went to the Games of Acadiana and had a great time!

Jacob tried to "lasso" a calf! He was so funny, he would swing the rope over his head just like the other kids, but when it was time to try and rope the calf, he would forget to let go of the rope.

He was so funny!

Potty Update
I think he's doing great, but this is my first potty training adventure!
He has been dry all night every night for the past 3 weeks!
He is now only messing up one pair of shorts at school per day!
Not bad for his 3rd week in
I tell him that the pee pee people are in his tummy and they need to go home. Of course, the way they get home is to flush!
I know I'm weird, but it's working great!

Mothers The World Needs

Mothers with courage; mothers who pray,
these are the kind the world needs today.
Mothers who think, who study and plan;
mothers who laugh as much as they can, having the gift that is better than money- the habit of seeing that some things are funny.
Mothers whose faith never wavers or falters;
mothers whose spirits the world never alters;
loving the right and scorning the wrong; facing the problems of life with a song.
Mothers whose bravery transcends their fears;
winning the battle with patience and tears;
never submitting to weakness or sin-
storming heaven's gates till the children are in.
Mothers heroic, not guilty of whining;
hands graced with service and faces with shining.
Mothers of purity, virtue and faith,
steadfast in life and triumphant in death;
looking beyond the dark pathway of sorrow,
seeking a home in God's joyous tomorrow,
leading the children; pointing the way-
these are the mothers, the world needs today!

What's going on at our house....

This scenerio is being repeated in our house almost constantly:

"Need to potty?"......"NO NO NO"....."I'll give you a sticker if you potty"...."Oh, OK"....after 5 minutes sitting there and goofing around, I take him off the potty. Usually about 10 minutes later I'm cleaning up :(

Someone got a haircut yesterday and Mr Judd used some gel in his hair to make him look like a big

Sleeping with daddy's Mavis Bacon typing cd. I've heard you can learn through osmosis :)

That's whats going on here....what's going on at your house???

Steven Curtis Chapman Family

Just in case you missed the piece on Good Morning America this morning (which I did because I was on my way to work). A link to the trascript of the interview appears below:

Healing After Tragedy: Chapman Copes With Loss of Daughter
Steven Curtis Chapman: "While We Are Grieving This Process, There Is a Hope"

I can't even imagine losing my precious son.

May our faithful Lord comfort those who have lost their precious children. I pray specifically for the Cantrells and the Chapmans. Amen
